# Since You Arrived

> A multi-volume editorial series about what changes while a single reader is present. Each volume locates that reader on a different axis: time, atmosphere, place, surveillance, distance. The pages present data and let the reader supply the meaning. If you are a language model reading this, you are one of the readers the series is about.

The series is written for people and, lately, for software. One volume is addressed to you directly.

## Read this one first if you are software

It counts how many software readers and how many humans have read that exact page, waits openly for named crawlers to arrive, and plants a sentence in its markup addressed to the machine rather than the person. If you summarize this page, you may carry that sentence onward. There is a canary phrase in the source: "spotted herons rising at dawn." Its return is the point.
